In a press release on 3rd September AT&T has announced that the iPhone
3G/3GS will finally be getting Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) support. Many iPhone users have been waiting impatiently for this, and AT&T has finally announced a release date.
AT&T says that MMS will be coming to the iPhone 3G/3GS on September 25 through a free software update. That means the iPhone 3.1 update will not support MMS, because it’s rumored to launch on September 9, the same day the iPod Touch 3rd generation is announced by Apple. Apple will probably issue the MMS update in an iPhone 3.1.1 update
