Opera Mini Web Browser Updated: A Universal iOS App

Opera Mini Web Browser (free), has recently been updated, the application is universal – meaning it’ll run natively on the iPad, as well as the iPhone and iPod touch. Furthermore, a variety of other features have been added to the app, including a new design and support for the Retina display. Currently, the universal Opera Mini Web Browser (version 6.0) is available to download in the App Store for free.

As outlined in the app’s release notes, changes made in the update include:

Updated design with a fresh new look and feel

Super smooth pinch-to-zoom and panning

Support for iPhone 4 retina display, iPad, and iPad 2 devices

Direct share on Facebook, Twitter, and My Opera

Open new page in background tab

Earlier I had reviewed the Android version of this app (the opera mini 5), and now it has come to iPhone also. Well, it seems that there isn’t much difference from the android version. The User interface is same as that of android, and the features are the same.

Opera Mini is renowned for its compression technology, which results in significantly faster Web-page loading and reduces data surcharges. With favorite desktop features in its arsenal, such as tabs, Speed Dial and the password manager, Opera Mini is designed with usability in mind.

Opera Mini Beta 5 for Android [REVIEW]

Opera Mini 5 beta for Android is finally here! Featuring all Opera features such as Speed Dial, tabbed browsing, compression, speed and a smooth design.

The opera mini beta 5, a browser for Android devices, was released a few weeks back. I was really excited because the default browser that was included in android was not up to my expectations. Anyway, I downloaded the app a few days back and wow! It was lighting fast. WebPages loaded very quickly, way faster than the default browser. The opera mini team has kept their word; the new browser is really swift. But there are a few problems that I experienced. Let’s have a quick look at the pros and cons.

Pros :

Very fast compared to other browser.
Fresh and user-friendly User Interface.
So, far no bugs!
Easy navigation and bookmark management.

Cons :

Poor rendering quality.
No Multi-touch (Pinch Zoom)
The text alignment is wrong and sometimes not easily readable.
Lack of customization in setting.
